I initially began Wise Minded back in 2013, after completing my Mindfulness Teacher Training Retreat with Bangor University. At this point I was offering monthly mindfulness workshops to a group of lovely parents. I then took a break from this while life got turned upside down by becoming a parent myself!
In the meantime I trained as a children’s yoga and mindfulness teacher, and in 2015 Wise Minded Kids was born. I have now been teaching regular classes for kids aged 2-12yrs for nearly 3 years. I’ve taught in a variety of settings from busy public spaces such as garden centres and play gyms, to more formal child care and educational settings such as nurseries and schools.
It’s fair to say the yoga teaching bug bit hard, and I am now coming to the end of a 2 year journey of practice, training and self-reflection to qualify as an adult Dru Yoga teacher. I will be working to develop some adult yoga classes and workshops, alongside my children’s ones.
Given my background as a Clinical Psychologist I am passionate about the benefits of yoga & mindfulness for developing emotional resilience and mental wellbeing. I am really excited to have the opportunity to combine both psychology and yoga as I embark on a 200 hour training in Yoga Therapy for Children and Young People – so watch this space!
